Barcelona

Hotel Barcelona is a 24 room boutique hotel opened in 2012 in San Juan de los Remedios, recognized as the eighth oldest city in Cuba. Founded in 1578, Remedios is very well known for the Cradle of the Parrandas, (Christmas festival, “Las Parrandas de Remedios”), possibly Cuba’s largest and oldest traditional festivity. The cityès long history is particularly evident in the city center (declared a National Historic Monument in 1980), where 17th century Spanish architecture can still be found almost intact.

The Barcelona is just one block apart from Mascotte Hotel, and shares its privileged location, facing the Main Square which is the only one in Cuba where 2 churches sit, one of them being the main attraction in town, the “Iglesia Mayor” of San Juan Bautista, containing 13 beautifully decorated gold altars, and the other church known as “Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje”
