Mirador de Mayabe

Completely rebuilt in 2003 this is definately the nicest place to stay in the Holguin City area. A small and friendly cluster of rustic but very comfortable cabins, all with bath, hair dryer, air conditioning, phone and TV, located on a hilltop 6 miles S.E. of the city. A natural balcony, the excellent view of the Mayabe Valley, with its fruit orchards and Holguin in the distance, makes this a popular Cuban honeymoon spot. Terrace pool and popular restaurant. The bar’s claim to fame is Pancho, the beer loving donkey. Next door is home to an aldea campesina (country village) with simple lodgings and a restaurant, as well as an open air museum. This illustrates the lives of Cuban farmers living in a small village with various examples of bohio real, typical rural homes with palm leaf roof and earth floor.
