Located on the Malecon right next to the Melia Cohiba, this classic hotel from the fifties features spacious areas in an art deco style. It is central for both the business traveller and tourist. Air-conditioned rooms done up in soothing pastel colours have a bathroom with tub and shower, hair dryer, telephone, radio, satellite TV, mini fridge and safety deposit box. The hotel has 354 rooms (including two for disabled guests), large seawater swimming pool where Ginger Rogers and Esther Williams once splashed, buffet restaurant, à la carte restaurant, grill bar,24 hoursnack bar, room service, medical service, money exchange, souvenir shop, and a tour desk. In the 1950’s, the Presidential Suite was the home to mobster Meyer Lansky. All of the rooms have a view of the ocean and it’s conveniently located in Vedado on the malecon. Top salsa orchestras play in its famous, newly renovated Copa Room cabaret (formerly El Palacio de la Salsa). The hotel was renovated in 1998.
