Santa Isabel

The Count of Santovenia once owned this 18th century palace, which was opened in early 1997 as a three story five star hotel. Offering its guests the height of luxury, it is one of Havana’s most prestigious hotels, conveniently located in the city’s Colonial section and surrounded by museums and tourist attractions. Located on Plaza de Armas, one of the loveliest squares in Havana. Facilities include an elegant restaurant serving Cuban and international cuisine, two bars, a gift shop, and business centre. The lofty ceilinged, air-conditioned rooms have 2 single or one king sized beds and wel-equipped bathroom, satellite TV, safe and mini-bar. Te suites have jacuzzis. The most romantic hotel in Havana, it has a magical courtyard and balconied bedrooms overlooking Plaza de Armas. There are only 27 rooms, of which 10 are suites ,so the hotel sells out fast. Book well in advance. The only drawback is that it does not have a swimming pool. The Pope stayed here during his 1998 visit and former President Jimmy Carter stayed here during his visit in 2002.
